How to Charge the Samsung NC10 Battery Optimally?

11/30/2013 09:42

The Samsung NC10 Battery unlike other batteries, don’t have any memory effect. This means that it is possible to charge it at any point and it won’t decrease the battery life whatsoever. You don’t need to cycle, in fact it’s better not to run them down. One down side of using the battery, however, is that it has balanced 6 cells which are connected in series. Should one of these cells drop below a certain voltage, believe me the whole battery will be dead.

Some people usually think that at around the minimum percent as indicated by the laptop, the Samsung NC10 Battery cell may have hit the voltage limit. But, Samsung usually tests the battery to destruction and it is never easy for the machine to run when the voltage hits a certain level above the critical point.

Battery for Samsung NC10 Management

The meter of the battery for Samsung NC10 or rather the power meter is not in misconfig or a service i.e. it is not possible to turn it off easily. Should there be a way of doing that, then it probably involves changing how Windows behave all together. Some machines also have the Samsung Battery Manager which is responsible for setting the LCD to auto-dimming and it also gives you a couple of options on what time steps to set. This is something that the Battery Meter can not do.

Watch out not to short-circuit the battery for Samsung NC10 as this may result into a severe damage to the battery itself or the Samsung NC10 adapter. Though the adapter employs “short-circuit” auto-turn off for further protection, it’s prudent not to risk. Before you use it, make sure the connector and the voltage of your charger matches that supplied to the socket. Also, avoid the short circuit of the terminals by keeping your Samsung NC10 battery pack away from metal objects like hairpins or necklaces.

Does using the Samsung NC10 adapter affects the battery adversely?

Most people use their Samsung NC10 laptops at home and use them near power plugs, and they keep getting worried whether the constant recharging (i.e. keeping the 100% level) that implies permanent use on the adapter affects the Samsung battery negatively whether it makes the battery to wear more quickly. Ok, the answer is simple; that unless you intend to keep the hardware for a long period of time, says five years, then chances are that a battery that won’t hold the charge will be the second or third owners problem. Ride it like you actually stole it.
